I wanted to like Yamada 999 more but it seemed to slide into bog-standard shoujo tropes after a promising start. To me, shoujo romance is at its best when it's about people with relatable human frailties. Akane starts out that way but kinda recedes into a more traditional kinda dopey and exceedingly kind shoujo protagonist mold to move the story forward. It's kinda a drag. Those MMO avatars are 10/10 tho.
It's very Normal and it only gets more so as it goes. I'm from the "having read large chunk of the manga" POV and I'd say the anime ends at the beginning of their progression. But also, if I recall, the section after this in the manga is extremely contrived stuff (there's an EVIL guild) so it might be for the best they dropped off where they did.
